A CHAT WITH INTERIOR DESIGNER SACHA FROM IGNITE ARCHITECTS

What is your team’s design approach?
We create spaces where people want to be. Designs that are both people oriented and visually inspiring. Our commitment is to create harmony between the built and natural environments, as well as deliver an infrastructure that fosters engaged and vital communities.

Did you aim for cohesion or contrast with the building’s exterior?
Cohesion. While intended to read as bold and unfussy, the interior elements have been carefully studied in terms of materiality and proportion, much like the architecture. This approach strengthens the identity of the development as a whole while allowing buyers scope to add their own layers of personality on top.

Do buyers have a choice of interior materials?
There are two material palettes to choose from: a darker scheme offers more contrast between design elements while the light version offers a softer overall feel.

Which scheme (dark or light) tends to be most popular?
With the home being a place of respite, lightness is generally more sought after by those who want to decompress at the end of the day.

What stands out to you about Cheshire Lofts?
Unlike many developments, Cheshire Lofts has 19 different apartment types. Whether you’re a part-time chef with every gadget on the planet, globe-trotting executive or anything in between, we’ve designed an apartment at Cheshire Lofts with you in mind. Comprising studio, one, two or three bedroom options, two remarkable penthouse suites on the 7th floor and a collection of five sub-penthouses across the 6th, there really is something for everyone.

Do the penthouse suites have any special considerations?
Luxury, amenity and flexibility. Enclosed by floor-to-ceiling glazing, penthouse suites at Cheshire Lofts take advantage of the best views Parnell has to offer including the city, domain and beyond. We have incorporated design-forward interior concepts to organise spaces which can be opened up or sectioned off – ebbing and flowing to create cosiness or spaciousness as needed. Each of the 7 penthouse units feature kitchens, wardrobes and cellars from Studio Italia – a special collaboration which will bring true luxury to the centre of the home.

You’ve spent quite some time working on these apartments – do you have a favourite?
Yes, I love the Studio Loft (Type I). Oodles of glass and movable interior panels make this apartment feel as big or as small as you want it to. It’s the perfect pied-à-terre for the nomadic type or first step for a young professional couple who want to be close to the hustle and bustle of Parnell.

To discover an apartment layout that suits your style of living, visit our sales suite at 17 Cheshire Street, Parnell. Open Saturday and Sunday from 2-3pm, Tuesday and Thursday from 12-1pm, or contact an agent for an appointment.
